Looking back at my running schedule, some of the runs there bring out distinctive memories from how they went and what were for me. Here’s a short list of the general category of run’s I’ve had recently:
The “It’s so gorgeous and I’m so happy” run: When the weather just beckons you outside to go and run and frolic in the sunshine. Every moment is just fantastically awesome and amazing!
The “Happy after the fact” run: Usually takes a few moments or more to actually get out the door but once you’re done you feel supremely satisfied with the effort (and that it’s over).
The “I can’t believe I have to run again already” run: Sometimes, life just goes by too fast and when you make a push on one run and have to get going again too soon, it’s just like come on!
The “Crappy weather, I’m just going to run” run: Moods and weather sometimes just fit and when the weather’s ugly out, sometimes running through all that rain and wind or snow is the best form to clear your own clouds. Exercise, a shower and therapy in a sense.
The “It’s on my training plan but I don’t wanna” run: Admittedly, with an increase in biking this one’s been cropping up more often on my radar due to some long nights and hectic schedules but again, it’s on my training plan so I gotta get out there.
And my personal fav’, the “One day I won’t be able to” run: Running really is something to be in awe of and enjoy and these runs embrace the fact that it’s a gift. Getting out there with a smile and a bit of a bounce in your step, these runs leave you feeling great after a perfect workout.
Here's hoping your runs are all of the awesome variety!
Mine generally are,
Must be my lucky day!
